Harvey Weinstein assigned to Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome

Disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein has been assigned to the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome, the New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) said Tuesday in a statement.

“Mr. Harvey Weinstein has been returned to DOCCS custody following his court trip to California,” The DOCCS said in an emailed statement. “Prior to Mr. Weinstein being transferred back to New York, the Department reviewed his treatment and program needs. He has been assigned to the Mohawk Correctional Facility as he resumes serving his court given sentence.”

Mohawk Correctional Facility is a medium security level facility.

A judge sentenced Harvey Weinstein to 16 years in prison in his Los Angeles criminal trial in February, adding on to the 23 years he is already serving as he continues to face repercussions from sexual assault allegations that kickstarted the #MeToo movement.
