Hatley leads Southeastern into bowl tilt

Nov. 19—DURANT, Okla. — Clovis High 2016 graduate Daulton Hatley will help lead the Southeastern Oklahoma State football team into the Farmer's Bank and Trust Live United Bowl on Dec. 3 against Emporia State at Texarkana, Ark.

The clash, set for a noon (CST) kickoff, is a rematch of last year's bowl tilt in which Hatley earned Most Valuable Player honors. The NCAA Division II Savage Storm, former Lone Star Conference members, got 336 yards and three passing TDs from Hatley in last season's clash and defeated the Hornets 37-34 on a game-winning, 29-yard field goal by Trey Keatts with six seconds left to finish the season with a 9-3 record.

Hatley is a sixth-year senior for the Savage Storm (6-5, 6-5 Great American Conference this year for fifth place in the 12-team circuit). He was one of three Southeastern players named to the All-GAC first team this week.

Hatley was a redshirt during his first season at Southeastern (2017), and got a COVID year when the 2020 slate was canceled due to the pandemic.

He split time at quarterback as a sophomore in 2019 and has started for Southeastern each of the past two years. This fall, Hatley has connected on 246-of-381 passes for 3,063 yards — his second consecutive 3,000-yard campaign — with a school-record 29 touchdown tosses and 11 interceptions.

For his career, he has completed a school-record 632-of-1,041 passes for 7,885 yards, with 68 TDs and 26 INTs. In 2021, he was honorable mention All-GAC, throwing for 3,117 yards with 27 scoring passes and just five picks.

With 67 yards in the bowl tilt, Hatley would add another school record to his ledger for career passing yards.
