BRADENTON — The Hats & Heels & Bow Ties Luncheon and fundraiser for Turning Points is scheduled on May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Legacy Hotel at IMG Academy, 5450 Bollettieri Blvd. The event supports programs at Turning Points designed to prevent and reduce homelessness.

Radio host Lulu from CTQ 92.1 is the emcee for this year’s event, which centers around an interactive competition between guests with celebrity judges, including Summer Smith from ABC7, Maverick Johnson from 92.1 CTQ, and Shantel Norman from Jah Movement.

This past year, Turning Points made an impact on 9,100 men, women and children struggling in the community, including:

· Paid over $1.1 million to landlords and utility companies to end or prevent homelessness for families, veterans, the elderly, and individuals in Manatee County (while doing case management for hundreds of these families and individuals in need of assistance).

· Provided 295 veterans with critically needed services throughout all Turning Points programs.

· Provided 835 individuals free dental care at Turning Points with 288 patients receiving partial or full dentures.

· Provided nearly $1 million in free prescription assistance.

Several sponsorship packages are available and unique sponsorships can also be created. Donated gifts for the raffle prizes are also needed. Over 250 women and men from Sarasota, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch attend Hats & Heels & Bow Ties. Contact Margi Dawson at mdawson@tpmanatee.org or 941-747-1509, ext. 346, for information or to donate a gift or service for the raffle prizes.
