Haunted attractions ready to scare in and around Lawrence, Morgan and Owen counties

It's the time of year when leaves are beginning to turn colors and children across the land are trying to figure out what they want to dress up as for Halloween.

The month of October is also the time of year when many folks around the region are looking for an adrenaline rush and things that go bump in the night, and south central Indiana has more than a few haunted attractions for locals to enjoy.

Hell on the Hill, Heltonville, Indiana

Hell on the Hill, 9927 S. Chapel Hill Rd., Heltonville, is located just north of the Lawrence/Monroe County Line.

The attraction is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Children 12 years old and younger are free while all others cost $5. Call 812-797-8227 for more information.

Forbidden Hollows Haunted Farm, Bedford, Indiana

Forbidden Hollows Haunted Farm, 639 Anderson Rd., Bedford, is located in northern Lawrence County near Judah.

The haunted farm operates from 8 to 10 p.m. every Saturday in October.

According to its website, anybody in line at 10 p.m. will be able to get into the attraction.

The cost of tickets is $20 per person.

Hall's Haunted Halls

Hall's Haunted Halls, 5955 W. Hurt Rd., Monrovia, is located at the Hall School in the tiny town of Hall in northern Morgan County.

Hosted by the Hall Civic Association, the attraction operates from 7 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in October.

Tickets can be purchased online at hallcivic.org for $15.

Natural Beauty: Morgan County's White River Greenway offers views of fields and forests.

Children 9 years old and younger can get in for $10 a ticket, at the door only, while adult tickets at the door are $20.

Tickets purchased at the door are cash only.

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Haunted Trail, Spencer, Indiana

Owen Valley Middle School athletics and Owen Valley High School cross country is hosting a haunted trail at the high school football field, 622 State Road 46, Spencer.

The trail will be open from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, Saturday, Oct. 15 and Saturday, Oct. 22.

The cost to get into the trail is $5 per person.
