Haunted houses in Pensacola: These 7 haunted houses will scare the socks off you

Have you ever wondered what goes bump in the night? Now that October is here, you'll have ample opportunity to find out for yourself.

This year there are three haunted attractions around the Pensacola area and four more just across the Alabama border that are well worth the drive.

The Hadji Horror Haunted House

  • When: 7 to 10:30 p.m., Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 31 and 6 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 29

  • Where: 800 W. Nine Mile Road

The Hadji Shrine is putting together the biggest Haunted House in the area for the seventh year in a row. Do you have what it takes to get through the Hadji Haunted House? Find out as you make your way through 40 rooms of pure horror. Proceeds will benefit the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased here: hadjihauntedhouse.com.

Creepy Hollow Woods

  • When: 6 to 9:30 p.m. for kid-friendly Thursdays, 6 to 11:30 p.m. for Friday and Saturday admission.

  • Where: 2251 Wade Road, Jay

Creepy Hollow Woods returns for its 10th year. The 2022 season has a lot in store as there will be food trucks, live music  and other forms of entertainment during the wait. The attraction is a trek through Hollow Woods, which features a mix of movie-inspired characters and fully original ones. Admission is $20 and kids 4 and under get in for free.

Terror in the Theater

  • When: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Oct. 15

  • Where: Imogene Theater, 6866 Caroline Street, Milton

The Imogene Theater in Milton is hosting a full day of haunts on Oct. 15. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors will enjoy a spine-chilling mix of special effects, actors, costumes, story-telling and exhilarating surprises blended with Imogene's haunted history.

Then, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., guests can go on a ghost hunt. Ghost hunting equipment will be provided by the theater, but you can bring your own, too. Audio equipment and digital cameras are allowed.

Foley’s Haunted Forest of Graham Creek

  • When: 8 to 11 p.m., Oct. 8, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29

  • Where: 23030 Wolf Bay Dr., Foley, Alabama

The Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley is hosting what is says is the “scare of your life.” Visitors will walk a half mile through various nightmares inspired by common childhood nightmares. Sweet Dreams Haunted Attraction

  • When: 7 to 11 p.m., Oct. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29; and 7 to 10 p.m., Oct. 13, 20, 27, 30 and 31. Special lights out days 7 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 5.

  • Where: 811 St. Francis St., Mobile, Alabama

The details surrounding Mobile’s scariest haunted house are kept under pretty tight wraps, but the 117 five-star reviews universally acclaim this to be one of the scariest haunts they’ve been. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased on the website here: sweetdreamshaunt.com.

The Dark Woods

  • When: Dark until midnight every Friday and Saturday and dark until 10:30 p.m. every Sunday in October

  • Where: 27600 County Road 64, Robertsdale, Alabama

The Dark Woods is a spine-chilling haunted woods experience. The winding path is next to an eerie lake, tall and gnarled trees and horrifying creatures hiding in the dark. This experience is intended for adults. Everyone must sign a waiver and children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult to be admitted. Nightmare Chambers at OWA

  • When: 7 to 10 p.m. every Friday to Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m. Sundays and 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 31.

  • Where: OWA, 1501 S. W OWA Blvd., Foley, Alabama

Nightmare Chambers is an official OWA haunted attraction that features three scare zones. The butcher’s block will have you fleeing from the butcher, the circus features dark corridors and blood-thirsty clowns and the insane asylum will have you guessing what’s real and what’s not.
