Haunted Mansion-inspired bar coming to the Disney Treasure cruise ship

Foolish mortals beware.

An all-new bar inspired by the classic Disney attraction Haunted Mansion will debut on the new cruise ship, the Disney Treasure, it was announced Tuesday. The Haunted Mansion Parlor will be serving happy haunts when the Disney Treasure sets sail in December 2024.

In true Disney storytelling fashion, once guests step into the parlor, they will be transported into the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion storyline. Described as a one-of-a-kind experience, guests will follow the story of a jovial captain who somehow entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé, according to a press release from Disney.

The Parlor will be visited by legendary characters from the Haunted Mansion attractions. Although specific characters weren’t mentioned, it was announced that new souls will be making appearances and socializing in mysterious ways throughout the experience.

Expect the space to be reminiscent of the original iconic 1969 Disneyland attraction, complete with the iconic purple wallpaper framed by wooden finishes, a distinctive purple armchair and other recognizable features. Guests also will be treated to a custom musical arrangement inspired by the attraction’s original score and arranged and adapted by composer Shruti Kumar and Walt Disney Imagineering.

In addition to specially-themed drinks, including one that contains a secret message that can only be revealed by black light, the parlor also will have exclusive merchandise. Items range from a music box that supposedly belonged to the captain’s fiancée and can only be opened in the presence of “malevolent” spirits to a mirror that may or may not have some hitchhiking ghosts appear in it.

It's not yet clear if the bar will be open to guests of all ages or have limited hours when those under 21 can visit.

The Disney Treasure, currently under construction in Germany, will be the sixth ship in the Disney fleet. It will be based at Port Canaveral with seven-night sailings to Eastern and Western Caribbean starting Dec. 21, 2024. Eastern Caribbean sailings will include calls on Tortola, St. Thomas and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, while Western Caribbean sailings will include calls on Cozumel, George Town and Falmouth.
