Haverford Crime Blotter: Stolen Signs, Identity Theft, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday

The blotter features incidents that occurred between Sept. 23 and Sept. 29.

Arrests made and citations issued are also included in the blotter.

INCIDENTS:

  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Merrybrook Drive on Sept. 23 at 10:49 a.m. — Victim reported that someone used his identity to apply for a COVID-19 small business loan and applied to receive unemployment benefits using his identity.

  • Theft at the 1100 block of West Chester Pike on Sept. 24 at 12:47 p.m. — Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.

  • Theft at the 2500 block of Belmont Avenue on Sept. 24 at 10:21 a.m. — Vehicle was entered — loose change was stolen.

  • Theft at the 1600 block of Ridgeway Road on Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m. — Political sign was stolen.

  • Theft at the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue on Sept. 24 at 4:02 p.m. — Political sign was stolen.

  • Fraud at the unit block of Cedarbrook Road on Sept. 24 at 8:49 a.m. — Victim reported that someone attempted to make two purchases with her expired debit card.

  • Identity Theft at the 600 block of Georges Lane on Sept. 24 at 2:49 p.m. — Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account.

  • Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of E. Benedict Avenue on Sept. 24 at 4:32 p.m. — Lawn sign was spray painted.

  • Bicycle Theft at the Haverford Middle School, 1700 block of Darby Road, on Sept. 25 at 10:32 p.m.

  • Theft at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on Sept. 25 at 1835 hours — Victim reported $100.00 missing from her wallet.

  • Theft at the unit block of E. Hillcrest Avenue on Sept. 25 at 5:05 a.m. — Dirt bike was stolen from a garage.

  • Motor Vehicle Theft at U—Haul, unit block of E. Township Line Road, on Sept. 25 at 1:45 p.m.

  • Fraud at the 500 block of Harrington Road on Sept. 25 at 3:46 p.m. — Victim reported an email scam.

  • Fraud at the 1200 block of Edgewood Road on Sept. 25 at 11:21 a.m. — Victim reported multiple unauthorized purchases were made with her credit card.

  • Bicycle Theft at Warrior and Burmont Roads on Sept. 26 at 3:05 p.m.

  • Embezzlement at Ardmore Hardwood Floors, 2300 block of Haverford Road, on Sept. 26 at 6:20 p.m. — The business owner reported that a former employee has taken approximately $10,000 from the business account.

  • Theft at Merion East Course, 400 block of Ardmore Avenue, on Sept. 27 at 10:14 a.m. — An employee reported that his wallet was stolen from an unsecured locker.

  • Vandalism at Steel Field, 1400 block of Steel Road, on Sept. 27 at 4:20 a.m. — Graffiti was reported on a bench.

  • Theft at the Haverford Reserve, 7000 block of Parkview Drive, on Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. — Vehicle window was smashed — a wristlet was stolen.

  • Theft at the 100 block of Campbell Avenue on Sept. 28 at 9:34 a.m. — Power tools were stolen from a detached garage.

  • Fraud at the 2600 block of Ashwood Drive on Sept. 28 at 3:26 p.m. — Two unauthorized charges were made with the victim’s eBay account.

  • Criminal Mischief at the Haverford Dog Park, 9000 block of Parkview Drive, on Sept. 28 at 3:35 hours — Vehicle window was shattered; nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

  • Identity Theft at the 600 block of Furlong Avenue on Sept. 29 at 9:44 a.m. — Victim reported that someone opened a credit card account using her identity

ARRESTS:

  • 55—year—old male, 5700 block of Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: DUI, accidents involving damage to property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver. Location: 900 block of Old Manoa Road. Date: Sept. 25 at 8:44 p.m.

  • 20—year—old female, 1800 block of Beverly Road, Philadelphia. Charges: Accidents involving injury, failure to stop and render aid, suspended driver's license, unregistered vehicle and failed to stop at red light. Location: West Chester Pike and Darby Road Date: Sept. 26 at 3:38 a.m.
