Having trouble with cell phone service in SLO County? Here’s what’s going on
Southern San Luis Obispo County residents may be having trouble with their cell phone service, San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services said in a social media post Tuesday morning.
According to the agency, there is “a widespread cell service outage” affecting parts of southern San Luis Obispo County.
The agency said it is trying to gather more information from cell service providers, and there is no additional information at this time.
The cause of the outage and its extent is unclear at this time.
If affected residents need to contact 911, the agency suggests using a landline copper telephone or locating a public safety official. IPhone users can also text 911 using iMessage if they are connected with WiFi.
Arroyo Grande Police Department also suggests those needing to contact emergency services to use a landline. The department said it is monitoring the situation.
