At the end of February, it was announced that Hawaii Five-0 had been cancelled.

Filming on the final episode recently wrapped up, and star Meaghan Rath has wasted no time in landing herself in a new TV role.

As reported by TVLine, the actress has scored herself a role in the pilot for a new CBS comedy called Jury Duty, which is about a group of jurors who can't agree and become sequestered until they can reach a verdict.

In it, she will play a "sarcastic, adorably neurotic and a little controlling" character called Jen.

Jen is described as a book editor who dislikes the fact she is single while her friends are married with kids, yet is completely unaware of how high maintenance she is.

The actress, who previously appeared in both New Girl and Supergirl, will also be acting in the pilot alongside her fiancé Jack Cutmore-Scott.

While CBS hasn't said anything officially about why they cancelled Hawaii Five-0, the general consensus is that it isn't down to ratings, which may have dipped over the last 10 years (what show hasn't had that?) but were still strong.

Instead, it seems that both Alex O'Loughlin's (Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett) and Scott Caan's (Detective Sergeant Danno Williams) contracts were due to expire at the end of season 10, and it was very unlikely the former would have gone on to re-sign.

When you listen to how much he's talked about how much the injuries from filming have affected his life, you can't really blame him.

Hawaii Five-0's final ever episode (#240, to be precise), will be two hours long. Catch it on CBS on Friday, April 3.
