Hawaiian High School Football Team Performs Haka Before Taking on Favorites in California

A travelling Hawaiian high school football team performed a ceremonial Polynesian dance before taking on the number one ranked team in America on Saturday, September 17.

Video recorded by SBLive shows the Kahuku Red Raiders performing their haka in front of their travelling fans ahead of a non-conference game against St John Bosco, America’s top high school football team.

St John Bosco went on to win the game 34-7. St John Bosco’s director of football Jessie Christensen expressed his gratitude to Kahuku’s performance.

“What I witnessed tonight will never leave me,” Christensen said in a tweet, adding that the display “may be one of the greatest moments” he has experienced whilst being a part of St John Bosco.
