Hawkeyes to hire former Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester as offensive coordinator

The Iowa Hawkeyes are reportedly hiring Packers senior analyst and former Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester as offensive coordinator. 247sports’ David Eickholt first reported the hire.

Lester was the head coach of the Western Michigan Broncos from 2017-2022, putting together a 37-32 record. He has an offensive background, and put together some impressive offensive statistics when he called plays.

This past season, Lester assisted his former Bronco teammate, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur. In 2024, he will take over for Brian Ferentz and an offense that finished dead last in total offense in 2023.
