Jun. 6—SULLY — Lynnville-Sully's softball team laced seven doubles and four players had at least two hits during the Class 1A No. 2 Hawks 11-1 win over BGM on Wednesday night.
The Hawks broke open a tight game with a six-run third and a four-run fourth to end the game after five innings.
Denali Conover finished with three hits and Caitlin Alberts, Laci Keen and Lily Zylstra all had two hits.
Alberts added three runs, three steals, one RBI and one walk. Conover and Zylstra each had two RBIs and Keen chipped in three RBIs. The Hawk foursome combined for six of the team's seven doubles.
Aliya James had the other double and she added one run and one RBI, while Korinne Jansen and Reagan McFarland both walked once, scored one run and stole two bases.
Megan Van Zante scored two runs and stole a base, Cayler Noun Harder chipped in one walk, one run and one steal and Elizabeth Squires walked once. Greenlee Smock also scored a run.
Conover (5-1) was the winning pitcher as she allowed no earned runs on two hits with one strikeout, two walks and one hit batter in five innings.
She has 31 strikeouts in 40 1/3 innings and is batting .520 at the plate so far this season.
L-S improved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the SICL, while BGM is 2-4 and 2-2.

The Hawks were held to five hits and committed four errors during a 6-3 SICL loss to BGM on Wednesday.
Bryce Richards had three of the five hits and Conner Maston drew three walks but BGM scored three runs in the sixth to take a lead it wouldn't relinquish.
Braden Alberts added one hit, two runs and two walks, Blake Rea walked twice and scored a run and Caleb Rea had one hit and one steal.
Davis Utech also had an RBI and Corder Noun Harder walked once for the Hawks, who are now 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Payton Van Wyk started and took the loss on the mound after allowing three earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts, two walks and three hit batters in 5 1/3 innings.
Lannon Montgomery pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on two hits.
Jake Moel tallied three hits, two runs and two RBIs for BGM (2-4, 2-2) and also got four outs in four pitches to earn the save in relief.
