Hayden Panettiere Now Has a Silver Pixie Cut With the Sides Shaved

Hayden Panettiere has never been one to share a lot on social media — in fact, the Nashville alum just took a 10-month-long hiatus from Twitter, and for those who don't know, she doesn't have a personal Instagram (fan accounts only, folks). For this reason, it came as a major surprise when she unexpectedly returned to Twitter this week, with a whole new look to boot.

The star's long, sunny-blonde hair is no longer. Now, Panettiere has an edgy pixie cut with the sides shaved and her hair-color is a cool-toned, silvery hue. On Twitter, the 30-year-old actress posted a selfie of her fresh look with the caption: "Channeling my inner #Kirby #Scream4 Thanks to my boys ⁦@anthonyleonard⁩ ❤️." For anyone unfamiliar, she's referring to the character she played in Scream 4, who had more or less the exact same style.

Panettiere's go-to hair guy, Leonard Zagami, says that the actress was looking for a "radical change", as E! News reports. "Last night we just went for it! It's a modern version of a classic pixie style with a little more of an edge," he told the publication. "The color is silver, but not grey. She had previously been going with a super sexy blonde," he added.

According to Zagami, Panettiere had been wanting to go short for a while but hadn't been able to due to different work obligations. He continued, "Right now, she is free and said, 'let's do it!'"

It should go without saying, but you all know how much we love a major hair transformation here at Allure, so of course, we couldn't be happier for Hayden — or more obsessed with this throwback look on her.
