Hayden Tichenor, Jaheim Williams win two events each in Henderson County's Colonel Classic

HENDERSON, Ky. -- Hayden Tichenor and Jaheim Williams won two events apiece for Henderson County in Saturday’s Colonel Classic.

Tichenor won the 400 dash and the long jump to lead Henderson County to a first-place finish in the 12-team girls’ field with 132 ½ points.

Tichenor, who won the indoor state title in the long jump last month, won Saturday’s meet with a jump of 15-8 and claimed the 400 in 1:04.9. Tichenor was also a member of the Lady Colonels’ first-place 4x400 relay team.

Williams swept the boys 100 and 200 dashes with times of 11.4 and 23.4, respectively.

Other first-place finishers for Henderson County on Saturday were: Natalia Davis, 100 dash, 13.2; Imarie Carter, 100 hurdles, 17.9; Chelsey Damrath, pole vault, 10-0; and Elias LIndemann, pole vault, 10-6.

The other members of the girls 4x400 relay team were Lauren Terhune, Hadley Wolfe and Careese Toombs. Henderson County’s 4x800 relay team of Meredith Gold, Sara Krampe, Allison Lucas and Hallie Mattingly also took first place.

Calloway County, which was the girls runner-up, took the boys team title by 1 ½ points over Owensboro. Henderson County finished third.
