HBO movie 'Girl Haunts Boy' filming at Montclair gift shop
An HBO movie tentatively titled "Girl Haunts Boy" is filming at the Montclair gift shop White Rabbit Black Heart on Glenridge Avenue this week.
The movie is about a boy who moves into a new house and develops a friendship with a girl from the 1920s who haunts the house, according to a flyer posted on the site.
A location scout for GHB productions, who could not speak for attribution, said the film will also be shot at other locations around the state. He declined to identify the stars.
Jason Gleason, director of the Montclair Center Business Improvement District, praised gift store owner Paul Giordano for his "incredibly efficient communication" with neighboring businesses about the onslaught of vehicles on Glenridge Avenue, where parking is already limited due to the construction of a new parking deck. Production vehicles included nine vans, a scissor lift, campers, a catering truck and 60 crew cars.
"He sent out flyers weeks in advance and notices on Facebook," Gleason said. "My office has gotten zero complaints."
