HBO has announced that it has ordered a second season of Game Theory With Bomani Jones.

The late-night sports talk show wrapped up its six-episode first season to much acclaim, standing out in the late-night game with a truly unique take on the genre discussing important stories in the sports world while having a great time doing it.

The talk show explores the intersection of sorts and culture through Jones's insightful commentary.

The series featured hilarious sketches, deep dives on essential topics, and some steller interviews from the likes of West Coast rapper Vince Staples and women’s basketball icon Dawn Staley.

Nina Rosenstein, EVP of HBO Programming, said of the renewal: “Bomani’s perspective on sports comes from a great base of knowledge, unexpected insights, and a sharp sense of humor. He shows us a different side of the conversation, why it’s important and why we should care. He’s only just scratched the surface, and we’re looking forward to seeing what else he has up his sleeve.”

Jones says he’s excited to dive back into the show after an incredible experience the first time around. “Game Theory has been a dream, the most creatively thrilling thing I’ve ever done, with the best team I’ve ever had. I couldn’t be more excited to apply what we learned from Season One and turn a good show into a great one.”

Jones is a regular contributor on HBO’s Back on The Record with Bob Costas and has made appearances in HBO Sports documentaries The Battle for Tobacco Road: Duke vs. Carolina and Runnin’ Rebels, which have established him at the network. He is still a regular at ESPN, where he co-hosted Highly Questionable, High Noon with Pablo Torre, and hosts his popular ESPN podcast The Right Time With Bomani Jones.

Game Theory With Bomani Jones is executive produced by Jones, Adam McKay (Winning Time, Don’t Look Up) and Todd Schulman from Hyperobject Industries, Stuart Miller, James Davis and Morgan Murphy. The first season is available to stream on HBO Max and on demand.
