🌱 HBPD Visits HBHS + Harriet Wieder Park Vector Control

Police officers visited the high school for a career fair. Also, it’s time to spray for mosquitoes again. Finally, the Hoag Health Center has scheduled a blood drive.

Here are the top stories in Huntington Beach today:

  1. Early Wednesday morning, HBPD officers attended the HBHS career fair. They gave students a starting point for those who want to pursue careers in law enforcement. “We are always happy to talk about the work we do in the community & potentially meet the next generation of the HBPD,” officers said.   2. A heads-up if you like to walk in Harriet Wieder Park. The OC Mosquito and Vector Control District “will be conducting targeted mosquito control efforts” on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. They will apply Vectobac WDG by truck. (@CityofHBPIO)

  3. The Hoag Health Center will host a blood drive on April 9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come to the parking lot at 19582 Beach Boulevard. Donors will receive a limited edition t-shirt. The venue strongly encourages appointments! (@hoaghealth)

  4. The HB City School District released its latest COVID numbers on Monday. The District confirms a total of four cases out of 5,513 students and teachers. There are two at Seacliff Elementary and two at Dwyer Middle School. (HBCSD)

  5. The City is responding to the repeated dissemination of anti-Semitic flyers. OC Human Relations and HB Listens have scheduled community dialog sessions “to discuss ways we can address hate speech, build community and empower residents to stand up against hate.” The first session is in person on March 29 at the Senior Center at Central Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the second is virtual and takes place on April 6.
