HCPH Implements online ordering

May 2—NORWALK — Huron County Public Health, in partnership with Permitium, announces the availability of VitalDirector, an online tool allowing for convenient online-ordering of birth and death certificates.

Permitium is a leading provider of cloud-based software for vital records offices around the country, focused on extending government services to communities. Permitium has been partnering with innovative vital records agencies since 2009 while currently serving over 42 million citizens across the United States.

VitalDirector will allow the public the ability to manage the processing, payment, and issuance of certified copies of birth and death certificates online. Huron County's Registrar, Allison Montgomery, who worked behind the scenes to implement the convenient self-service option, talked about the new service.

"We have partnered with Permitium to give Huron County a fast, easy, and affordable way for our citizens to request certified copies of birth and death certificates online," she said. "The ordering process with VitalDirector ensures statute compliance, accelerates turnaround time, increases security measures, and automates, tracks, organizes, and streamlines vital records ordering for applicants in Huron County."

The solution allows citizens to initiate the request for vital records through a common interface for walk-in and online application submissions. Obtaining Certified Copies of Birth and Death Certificates from HCPH

HCPH has statewide access to birth certificates and access to death certificates for deaths that occurred in Huron County. The addition of VitalDirector now provides the public with three options to purchase certified copies of birth and death certificates from HCPH: order online, walk-in/same- day service, or mail-in option.

—Order Online: visit https://huronoh.permitium.com/rod, select the certificate you wish to purchase and follow instructions to complete application. Online orders can be completed at any time.

—Walk-In/Same-Day Service: located at 28 Executive Drive, Norwalk, OH 44857. Individuals are encouraged to print out the Application for Certified Birth and Death Certificates form prior to arrival to allow for quick and easy service. Applications are available in English and Spanish format at https://www.huroncohealth.com/vital-records. Walk-in hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays.
