HCSD to host 4th Annual Prom-A-Palooza

 HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL) – The Harris County School District (HCSD) is set to host its 4th Annual Prom-A-Palooza on March 9 and are looking for donations for the event.

The event is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at HCSD’s Hope Center located at 106 Mountain Creek Drive in Hamilton, Georgia.

The school district says with prom season right around the corner, HCSD’s Department of Social Services and Parent University are looking for donations of new or gently used formal wear for the upcoming event.

HCSD says the school district’s “collaborative effort aims to alleviate the financial burden on high school students, ensuring prom remains an inclusive and memorable experience” for all students.

Those interested in donating, the school district will accept the following items:

For girls –

  • Formal dresses

  • Shoes

  • Accessories

For boys –

  • Suits

  • Shirts

  • Ties

  • Shoes

HCSD is also accepting donations of makeup, personal hygiene products, bottles of water and snacks to make gift bags for student who will benefit from the event.

HCSD will accept donations until March 5. Donations can be dropped off at the HOPE Center.

The school district said students interested in shopping at the event, must register and select a time to come by the HOPE Center. Once students arrive, HCSD will assign each student a personal shopper “to assist with their Prom-A-Palooza experience.”
