A head-on collision on a southwestern Minnesota highway has left at least one of the drivers dead, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Monday on Hwy. 59 in Avoca, the State Patrol said.

A 26-year-old man from Frederick, S.D., was heading north in his pickup truck and collided with a southbound car being driven by a 37-year-old man from Huron, S.D.

The patrol has yet to say whether one or both drivers were killed, nor has it said which vehicle strayed over the centerline. The drivers' identities were scheduled to be released later Monday.
