Headed to Dave & Buster's in Sioux Falls? Here are 6 games to try out

It's time to play the game! Dave & Buster's in Sioux Falls has been open nearly 3 weeks and people are still planning their initial visit to South Dakota's first location.

The Argus Leader stopped by the location for a quick scouting report for readers to know which six games staff members would recommend to a first time visitor at Dave & Buster's. See the games in action in the video above.

Below the six must-play games at Dave & Buster's Sioux Falls (in no particular order):

1. Pong (1-4 players)

Older visitors might recognize this as one of the first at-home video game systems they've ever played. Pong is present at Dave & Buster's and has become a four-player game. If you have less than four-players you can still play against the computer. It's instantly recognizable classic among a sea of lights and sounds.

2. Connect 4 Hoops (2 players)

The arcade features some hybrid-games. In this case, it's a cross between basketball and Connect 4. It's not just about sinking the ball in the basket for this game, there's strategy to it. Each player takes turns shooting the ball. The balls act as a chip for the Connect 4 game board. It's a game of skill with strategy also involved. One missed shot can land you in hot water and throw your whole game off.

3. Star Wars: Lightsaber Dojo VR (1 player)

Probably the most popular yet intimidating game on the arcade floor. It's a virtual reality game, but fear not if you've never experienced VR, the game walks you through gameplay before throwing you in to the battlefield. It's an immersive experience where you'll quickly forget you're not actually in outer space. Watch your feet! The game alerts you when you've moved too close to the screen as you forget you're in an arcade. Also, how cool is it to finally be able to wield a lightsaber?

4. Hungry Hungry Hippos (1-4 players)

The popular board game is life-sized at Dave & Buster's. And it's a workout. Players work to "eat" as many balls as they can while riding on top of a brightly colored hippo. It's a game kids run to as soon as they see it. It's also a game you will want to play with others. The more players the better.

5. Halo: Fireteam Raven (1-4 players)

One of the many shooter games in the arcade, Halo: Fireteam Raven has all the lights and sounds to keep you entertained for more than one round. You can either play survival or story mode as you sit in the game pod behind your space gun. The game moves fast and your success depends on that of your teammates. If you plan on working through the story mode you might have to load up some tokens on your game card to purchase multiple rounds.

6. Mario Kart (1-4 players)

The game we all played as kids but in arcade form! Mario Kart has you pick out a character from the Mario-verse to compete in a race against other players. Up to four players can link up and run on the same race. Items can be picked up and used on other players to impede their progress and keep you in the lead. It's one of many racing games at the Sioux Falls location where multiple people can play, but easy the most recognizable.
