Heading to Atlanta? Here’s how to buy your tickets for Penn State’s Peach Bowl matchup

For the first time, Penn State football is heading to the Peach Bowl.

The No. 10-ranked Nittany Lions will face No. 11 Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta Saturday, Dec. 30. The game, marking one of the coveted New Year’s Six bowls, will air at noon on ESPN.

Penn State fans flock in droves each postseason, and this Peach Bowl should be no different. Here’s what you need to know if you’re hoping to secure tickets.

When are tickets on sale for the Penn State-Ole Miss Peach Bowl?

Season ticketholders and Nittany Lion Club members receive first dibs on Penn State’s ticket allotment. Online ticket requests, accepted through 11:59 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, are allocated based on Nittany Lion Club point totals. Submitting a request does not guarantee fans will receive tickets.

Additionally, Student Nittany Lion Club members can purchase tickets through the Student Account Manager between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday (or until the allotment is exhausted). All other Penn State students can purchase tickets between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Ticketmaster.

Seating for student tickets is assigned after the sale closes, Penn State says. Students who purchase two tickets will have their seats assigned together, so be sure to group up if you hope to sit with a friend. Seating requests are not accommodated.

2023 Peach Bowl information

Penn State enters the Peach Bowl following a 10-2 regular season that saw losses to Ohio State and the University of Michigan. Ole Miss produced the same regular-season record in the SEC, where the Rebels beat ranked opponents like Louisiana State University and Tulane University, but fell to the University of Georgia and University of Alabama.

This year’s Peach Bowl will mark the first meeting between Penn State and Ole Miss. The Nittany Lions have not faced an SEC opponent since defeating Auburn 41-12 on the road in September 2022.

Penn State has never played a Peach Bowl game. The Rebels’ only two appearances in the annual postseason game came when Ole Miss defeated Georgia Tech in 1971 and fell to Texas Christian University in 2014.

Should Penn State beat Ole Miss, it would become the first program in college football history to win every bowl game within the New Year’s Six. The unofficial but commonly used term describes the marquee bowl games played around New Year’s Day: the Peach Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl and Rose Bowl, which the Nittany Lions won last season.

Penn State is 4-4 in bowl games under head coach James Franklin. Notably, the Nittany Lions are 3-1 in Near Year’s Six bowls during Franklin’s tenure.
