Heading to World Series games in Texas? Here's what weather to expect

The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers will play Games 1 and 2 of the World Series on Oct. 27 and 28 at the Rangers' Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Like the Diamondbacks’ Chase Field, the Rangers play in a stadium with a retractable roof protecting fans and players from the elements.

According to MLB, the 5.5-acre retractable roof is one of the most prominent features of Globe Life Field and will provide shade and cooler temperature 365 days a year, keeping the average temperature in the mid-70s.

Monique Sellers, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in the Dallas Fort Worth, located 20 miles outside of Arlington, mentioned that during this time of year, temperatures typically feature highs in the low-to-mid 70s and average lows ranging between 51-54 degrees.

The weather service forecast both game days to be overcast with chances of rain and thunderstorms.

"We have rain chances both Friday and Saturday. Friday afternoon and evening has a 90% chance of rain decreasing from then on into Sunday evening that has a 30% chance," Seller said.

The Globe Life Field Weather Forecast indicates that on Friday the expected high temperature is 82 degrees and the low is 69 degrees. For Saturday's game, fans can anticipate slightly cooler conditions, with a high of 78 degrees and a low of 57 degrees.
