Nov. 19, 1906: “The football season at Notre Dame has ended and the team has been very successful, taking in consideration the hard luck which followed the efforts of Coach Barry and Capt. Bracken during a great part of the fall. With the exception of one game — that with Indiana — the team has come out of every contest victorious.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 20, 1915: “Riverside drive will soon be prepared for a toboggan slide in accordance with past custom. Cold wintry blasts quickened the board of park commissioners at its Friday session to make early preparations for this part of winter municipal life.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 21, 1925: “Invitations received by hundreds of South Bend citizens to-day announced the first golden rule dinner ever held in this city. It will take place in the Rotary room of the Oliver hotel at 6:30 o’clock, Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, and is one of a series of similar events being held in the larger cities of the country.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 22, 1936: “Ward H. Conklin, distributor for General Houses, Inc., announced Saturday that South Bend’s first steel frame prefabricated house would be open for public inspection today from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and daily thereafter.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 23, 1948: “A ‘kidnaping’ that occurred 23 years ago in Seattle, Wash., has been solved in South Bend and all has been forgiven. Meanwhile the ‘victim,’ who hasn’t aged a bit in the intervening years except for a crack here and there, will start home for Seattle and the University of Washington campus after next Saturday’s football game with Notre Dame. The ‘victim’ is a three and a half foot wooden statue which bears the name Sunny Boy. At one time Sunny Boy was the mascot of Washington athletic teams.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 24, 1957: “A trip through a steel plant and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry was taken Nov. 13 by 33 members of the diversified cooperative education program in South Bend’s four public high schools.” — The South Bend Tribune

Nov. 25, 1968: “A major step toward the city’s fulfillment of its commitment to erect six municipal parking structures in the downtown renewal project area is to be taken by the South Bend Common Council tonight.” — The South Bend Tribune
