July 10, 1905: “E.T. Howard, who has been connected with the Hub clothing house for 15 years as cutter, has resigned his position, the house deciding to discontinue the tailoring business. Mr. Howard is preparing to engage in the merchant tailoring business and will open an establishment in this city next month.” — The South Bend Tribune

July 11, 1919: “In the belief that West Washington avenue property and West Colfax avenue residences are being appraised too high, the board of review this week has been making reductions as protests of freeholders are filed.” — The South Bend Tribune
