Heads up, dog lovers: MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin opening this June

A fur-friendly park, bar and grill establishment is coming to one of the most dog-loving cities in Texas this summer.

MUTTS Canine Cantina Austin is set to open in mid-June at 9825 N. Lake Creek Parkway. The franchise already has locations in Allen, Dallas and Fort Worth, but Austin will serve as its largest location yet.

Here's what you need to know:

What does the park offer?

The 1.6 acre park will have both large and small dog parks, dog wash stations, a K9 Splash Pad, fire pits, private party cabanas and more. MUTTS also employs what are called Bark Rangers to provide dogs with water and assist with keeping the grounds clean.

What about food?

The full-service bar and grill will serve specialty cocktails, local draft beer, fried pickles, the MUTTS burger, frozen lemonade popsicles and much more. Dogs can also get a quick snack with frozen peanut butter and beef broth PUPsicles and bite-size beef franks called Doggie Dog.

How much does it cost to use the park?

MUTTS offers $9.99 day passes Mondays through Thursdays and $14.99 day passes Fridays through Sundays for dogs using its park. A monthly membership of $34.95 comes with daily park amenities and early access to special events.

The $349.95 annual membership includes everything from the monthly membership as well as two free day passes at time of enrollment and discounts on cabanas and other private rental spaces. Also, from now until MUTTS grand opening weekend, there's a special Founder's Club rate offer of $249.95 annually.

What are the hours?

MUTTS will operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays through Sundays. Members have dog park access from 5 a.m. to midnight.

Are other new locations coming soon?

After Austin, MUTTS it's looking to expand to El Paso, New Braunfels, Tuscon, Phoenix and Denver according to its website.
