Healing Action supports survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation

(KTVI) It is a dubious distinction for St. Louis – the city ranks 16th in the United States for human trafficking.

A local organization is helping survivors through peer support, basic needs assistance, and trauma therapy.

Fox 2’s Jasmine Huda spoke with the co-founders of St. Louis-based Healing Action about how it is helping those who experienced sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.

Bankruptcy lawyers representing customers impacted by the dramatic crash of cryptocurrency exchange FTX 17 months ago say that the vast majority of victims will receive their money back -- plus interest. Biden signs bill to protect children from online sexual abuse and exploitation
On April 29, Senators Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Marsha Blackburn (R-SC) proposed a bipartisan bill to protect children from online sexual exploitation. President Biden officially signed the REPORT Act into law on Tuesday. This marks the first time that websites and social media platforms are legally obligated to report crimes related to federal trafficking, grooming, and enticement of children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's (NCMEC) CyberTipline.

Google on Wednesday launched its digital wallet in India with local integrations, nearly two years after the app was relaunched as a digital wallet platform in the U.S. As TechCrunch exclusively reported last month, Google Wallet will operate in India alongside the existing Google Pay app, which will remain the company’s payments app in the country. Google had replaced its Pay app with Wallet in the U.S. in February.

Brandywine Realty Trust says data stolen in ransomware attack
U.S. realty trust giant Brandywine Realty Trust has confirmed a cyberattack that resulted in the theft of data from its network. In a filing with regulators on Tuesday, the Philadelphia-based Brandywine described the cybersecurity incident as unauthorized access and the "deployment of encryption" on its internal corporate IT systems, consistent with a ransomware attack. Brandywine said the cyberattack caused disruption to the company's business applications that support its operations and corporate functions, including its financial reporting systems.
