Liane Jollon, executive director of a public health department in southwestern Colorado, has been named the new executive director of the Health District of Northern Larimer County, effective July 1.

She replaces Robert Williams, who was hired a year ago to replace longtime executive director Carol Plock, who retired in early 2022.

Williams resigned Nov. 7.

Jollon has an extensive background in public health, working as the director of San Juan Basin Health, serving La Plata and Archuleta counties and serving as manager of the Family Planning Clinic and Immunization and Family Planning Program.

Before taking on her role in health care, she served as executive director for the Adaptive Sports Association and the Sexual Assault Services organization in Durango.

Jollon has a bachelor's degree in arts, history and sociology from Columbia University, an associate degree in nursing from Pueblo Community College in Durango and is pursuing a master's degree in security studies from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.

In 2022, she was named a Gates Family Fellow as a senior executive in state and local government at the Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University. She is immediate past president of the Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials.

Deputy Director Lorraine Haywood will serve as interim director until Jollon arrives in July.

The health district is a special district that provides residents of northern Larimer County with dental, mental health and preventive health services, in addition to connecting people to more affordable health insurance and prescription options.

The district represents the northern part of Larimer County and includes Fort Collins, Laporte, Timnath, Wellington, Livermore and Red Feather Lakes.
