Oct. 5—Ashland's state senator will host Jackson County's Medical Director during an online town hall.

Dr. Jim Shames will speak on the current state of COVID-19 in Jackson County during State Sen. Jeff Golden's online town hall at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at an online town hall to be conducted via Facebook and Zoom.

Sen. Golden will also provide updates about the special session and redistricting, and touch on Rogue Valley issues that include illegal cannabis grows and pending wildfire bills, according to Sarah Settimo, an in-district legislative aide for Golden.

The meeting will include an opportunity to submit questions to Sen. Golden and Dr. Shames.

The town hall is expected to last 30 minutes, and will include Spanish language interpretation and closed captioning for the hearing impaired, according to Settimo. Interpretation will be done through a conference call line that will allow Spanish speakers to submit questions to the legislator in Spanish.
