Health screenings, diapers, food: Visit 2|42 on Saturday for free resources

GENOA TWP. — An annual giveaway and resource fair at 2|42 Community Church will supply food, clothing, haircuts, health screenings and more to residents in need.

More than 50 nonprofits, public service agencies and businesses will be present at "Community Connect" from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at 7526 Grand River Ave. in Genoa Township.

“Everybody needs help once in a while," said Amy Johnston, a community planner for the Homelessness Continuum of Care and Human Services Collaborative Body.

Johnston said hundreds have attended past events, and residents' needs have only grown in a challenging economy.

"It’s universally accessible (to Livingston County residents), so we don’t have any qualifiers. If you feel you need to connect with resources, please come," she said.
