A 'Healthy Cheese Board' Isn't an Oxymoron

Cheese has a bad reputation as a diet buster, but it’s actually a nutritious food packed with protein and calcium. It’s high in fat, though, so you’ll want to eat it in a healthy way. A few strategic selections can make your cheese board healthier, such as opting for flavor-packed varieties that satisfy with smaller servings, or choices that are lower in saturated fat and calories. Still, moderation is key, so keep your portion to 1 or 2 ounces. And instead of serving cheese with sodium-laden, nutritionally null crackers, pile that creamy goodness on fresh, fiber-rich veggies.
