A 'healthy Coke'? Trendy TikTok drink blends balsamic vinegar, sparkling water (to mixed reviews)

The latest TikTok trend requires just two ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen.

Users on the popular video platform are combining sparkling water and balsamic vinegar to make a so-called “healthier” version of Coca-Cola. Though the beverage definitely won't help every person reach their personal health goals, the sparking water and balsamic vinegar appear to match the classic soda’s signature dark brown color.

Will the combination become the beverage of the summer? That remains to be seen, but the trend has garnered millions of views on TikTok and other social media platforms, with users trying the quick recipe for themselves.

Some videos showed people enjoying the kind-of soda, while others rejected the combination

"TODAY with Hoda & Jenna" hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager tried the beverage on air this week, with Hager joking “do we just do everything TikTok says?”

And the trend spread beyond TikTok, with some people mocking – or trying out – the simple recipe on Twitter.

But whether you're rushing to the kitchen or not interested in sampling this trend, it follows a tradition of recipes going viral on TikTok, from Dalgona coffee to baked feta pasta.
