A healthy Miami restaurant chain is opening in Bradenton-Sarasota’s UTC mall area

Pura Vida, a Miami-based all-day cafe known for its healthy menu, plans to open in a 2,000-square-foot space along Cattlemen Road in the West District of University Town Center.

The projected opening date: the first quarter of 2024.

Husband-wife team Omerand Jennifer Horev launched the business in 2012 and now have 15 locations.

The menu uses locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever available. Food is served in an indoor-outdoor setting.

Pura Vida’s menu includes an all-day breakfast with a range of avocado toasts, egg sandwiches, bagels and organic acai bowls with a variety of bases and proteins.

Also on the menu: salads, wraps, sandwiches and a variety of gluten-free and vegan sweet treats.

The kids menu includes gluten-free offerings like Tiny Toasted Chicken, Cheesy Grilled Cheese, and Kid’s Acai Bowl.

Additionally, Pura Vida’s menu includes cold-pressed juices and wellness shots, superfood smoothies, kombucha and artisanal coffees and teas.

Other new businesses expected to open soon in UTC include farm-to-fork concept Naked Farmer, Foxtail Coffee Co.; The Breakfast Company; specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op; Sarasota-Bradenton’s first Drybar, Greek restaurant Blu Kouzina and more.

J.Crew Factory is opening 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug 17, in the Shoppes at UTC, next to Bonefish Grill.
