Hear Richmond Symphony Orchestra musicians in Civic Hall, on Reeveston Road

RICHMOND, Ind. — Richmond Symphony Orchestra will take listeners to the movies, to college campuses and to Reeveston during December.

The first two come during its "Marvelous Movie Music" concert Sunday, Dec. 5, and the second is a Dec. 10 Flannel and Frost event.

RSO returns to its Civic Hall Performing Arts Center home at 3 p.m. Sunday with music from movies and a medley of college fight songs. Selections include "Superman March," "The King and I," "Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana," "The Dark Knight," "My Fair Lady," "Forrest Gump Suite" and "The Phantom Menace."

Tickets are $20 or $25 for box seats. College students are admitted for half-price and children younger than 18 get in for free.

The symphony also has season tickets on sale for the three performances in the second half of the season. They start at $40 online at RichmondSyphony.org or by calling 765-966-5181.

The final three performances of the "Right Here, Right Now" season are "Classics by Great Masters" on Jan. 29, "Memorable Melodies" on March 5 and "A Concert of Firsts" on April 9.

The Flannel and Frost event includes three RSO ensembles playing holiday music as patrons stroll along Reeveston Road. The event will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 from South 18th to South 24th streets.

The free event also includes Reeveston residents providing treats to enjoy while listening to the music and meeting reindeer.
