Heard of it, Boise? This sports bar and restaurant just opened a second Meridian location

Once you hear the unusual name, it’s hard to forget Giggy D’s.

Still, if you live in Boise, you might be utterly unfamiliar. It’s a Meridian thing.

But word is spreading.

After transitioning around the end of 2021 from a longtime Beef O’Brady’s at 505 S. Eagle Road, the locally owned concept recently expanded.

A second Giggy D’s held its grand opening Monday evening at 6252 N. Linder Road — also in Meridian.

Giggy D’s is family-friendly but has a liquor license. Naturally, it’s all about college football on Saturdays. And the “NFL Sunday Ticket” package encourages Sunday food-and-drink marathons.

The menu mostly sticks to proven sports bar staples, but it has a lot of variety: burgers, sandwiches, wings, tacos, nachos, baskets, and salads.

Finger steaks are $18 with fries. Or live large with a Giggy Extra Biggie double burger for $20. One of the “fan favorites,” according to the restaurant, is its loaded fries for $10. (Add chicken for another $4, or carne asada for $5.)

In addition to plenty of beer and wine, Giggy D’s sells specialty house cocktails. So yep, you can even get somewhat “crafty” at this sports bar. Although that wasn’t always the case during the soft opening.

“WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!” Giggy D’s posted last week on Facebook. “Thank you for your patience at our new Linder location. … Our clerical issue with the state has been RESOLVED! What does this mean for you guys? It means we’ve got the boooooze BACK!”

Game on, Meridian.
