Heat advisory issued for Collier County, Naples. Heat index values expected to hit 110 degrees
The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a heat advisory for Collier County.
The statement about the advisory was posted at 10:42 a.m. on Saturday (July 29) and covers Naples, Bonita Shores, East Naples, Marco Island, Golden Gate and Immokalee.
This heat advisory is in effect until Sunday at 8 p.m.

What does a heat advisory mean?
The heat index values (feels like temperature) is expected to reach 110 degrees
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illness to occur
Overnight temperatures will only fall down to the mid 70s to around 80 degrees
What precautions are recommended during a heat advisory?
Drink plenty of fluids
Stay in an air-conditioned room
Stay out of the sun
Check up on relatives and neighbors
Don't leave young children and pets unattended in vehicles under any circumstances
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside
When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location
