Heath woman injured after her motorcycle struck a deer in Coshocton County

COSHOCTON — A Heath woman was injured Monday evening when a motorcycle she was riding struck a deer.

Bobbie O'Brien, 57, was driving the motorcycle in the 20000 block of Ohio 79 in Perry Township around 7 p.m. Independence Day when the collision with the deer occurred, the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities said O'Brien's motorcycle struck a deer that ran in front of it. The motorcycle then went off the right side of the road into the grass. O'Brien laid the bike down and it overturned.

She was flown from the scene by MedFlight to Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus for treatment of unknown injuries. She was listed in serious conditon at the hospital on Tuesday morning.

Assisting on scene were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services and Walhonding Valley Fire District.
