Heavy Rain From Tropical Storm Julia Causes Landslide in Guatemala's Izabal Department
Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Julia caused a mudslide in Morales, Guatemala, on Sunday, October 9, government agencies said.
Video filmed by Guatemala’s Road Protection and Safety department (PROVIAL) shows a mudslide blocking a lane of CA-13 near the town of Morales, Izabal Department.
No injuries were reported.
Guatemala’s meteorological agency warned of continued rain, even after the storm weakens, and heavily saturated soil in multiple areas across the country.
