Heavy rains in northern India cause traffic chaos

The streets of New Delhi and neighbouring Gurugram city were flooded, causing difficulties to commuters who were either stuck in traffic or were wading through waterlogged roads to reach their destinations.

A bus was seen submerged on a heavily waterlogged underpass in the Prahladpur area of the Indian capital.

In some parts of the city, waterlogging affected small stall owners who were not able to start their work amid the rainfall and in the absence of customers.

Meanwhile, three people were killed after a cloudburst in India's northern Uttarkashi district and houses were damaged in another cloudburst in the Tehri region of Uttrakhand state.
