Heavy Snow Blankets Chicago Region

A powerful storm dumped heavy snow over Chicago over January 30 and January 31, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

By 6 am, NWS Chicago had recorded 9.5 inches of snow in the suburb of Romeoville. It warned against non-essential travel as “very hazardous road conditions” were reported across the area.
