Heavy Snow and Fog Blanket Mountains Near Austria's Ehrenberg Castle

Large drifts of snow and thick fog turned the footbridge at Ehrenberg Castle in Reutte, Austria, into a pathway to a winter wonderland on January 6.

However, heavy snowfall cut off thousands of people, and the severe weather resulted in the deaths of at least seven people when between 50 and 80 centimeters of snow fell over areas in western Austria and in Bavaria over the weekend.
