Heavy Snow Prompts Avalanche Watch in California's Sierra Nevadas

Severe winter weather in Northern California prompted an avalanche watch in the area on Thursday, December 1, according to the Sierra Avalanche Center.

Video from the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab shows snow accumulating outside the lab in Soda Springs on Thursday morning. The lab said it was expecting at least 3 feet of snow by the end of the weekend.
