Hebron Community Chorus holding concert

Nov. 4—HEBRON — The Hebron Community Chorus will host its first autumnal concert this weekend.

The concert will be held on November 5 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, located at 30 Church Street / Route 85, at 7 p. m.

The chorus, formed last year, is an offshoot of The Town Center Project, a local initiative established in 2018 to focus positive attention on the services and products offered in Hebron's downtown area. The Town Center Project holds several events throughout the year, creating reasons for the community to gather at the various gathering places within Hebron. The chorus' very first concert was held this past spring.

" Keeping with their 'community' theme, the fall concert is titled ' You've Got a Friend,' highlighting songs and melodies by George David Weiss, Bob Thiele, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Carole King and so many others," said Holly Habicht, the president of The Town Center Project. "The Hebron Community Chorus continues to grow, increasing our membership from 24 in the spring to over 30 glorious singers for our fall concert."

Andrey Stolyarov is the chorus director. Stolyarov, a composer, is also the music director for Gilead Congregational Church, and teaches music theory at The Hartt School and Capital Community College. Musician Donald Funk will accompany the chorus on piano.

Admission to the concert is a suggested donation of $25 per person. Proceeds from the event will help fund other activities hosted by The Town Center Project, including art installations, contests, and festivals held all year long.

The Community Chorus is open to adults of all singing abilities aged 16 and older. Those interested in joining the chorus, or in learning more about the concert, can contact The Town Center Project at ttcp@ thetowncenterproject. org.
