Hector Falcon, Anais Arce win 2024 El Paso Marathon

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The 2024 Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon was held on Sunday. Many runners across the country showed up for the 17th running of the marathon, which included a half marathon and 5K race.

Nearly 300 runners participated in the full marathon. The marathon course went through the Mission Valley for the third year in a row. Runners began their 26.2-mile trek at San Elizario High School and finished up at the El Paso County Coliseum.

Hector Falcon finished the marathon the fastest, clocking in a time of 2:38:03 with a 6:01 pace. Falcon was the overall winner and the winner in the male division. Falcon was very winded, rightfully so, after his marathon run on Sunday.

“You put in a lot of work, and I am just out of breath,” Falcon said. “This is my second overall marathon, and I am happy to win this one.”

The winner in the female division was Anais Arce, who was running out of Austin, Texas. Arce finished the marathon with a time of 3:14:14 with a 7:24 pace.

“I feel really, really happy because this was a goal of mine to win a marathon in my gender and I am really excited that I did it in El Paso.” Arce said.

Arce and Falcon were just two of many individuals who took part in the 2024 El Paso Marathon on Sunday. To see the full results, click here.
