CANTON − Heggy's Nut Shop has signed a long-term lease to open a retail store at the Hall of Fame Village's Fan Engagement Zone.

“The family is thrilled to bring their experience to Hall of Fame Village and be part of the growing retail community there," shop President Erik Linn said Monday in a prepared statement. "Our new store is going to be a great place for people of all ages to enjoy our fresh roasted nuts, chocolates, and a variety of other snacks, while creating memories with their families and friends."

Heggy's Nut Shop, which sells roasted nuts and candies, has a location at 3200 Tuscarawas St. W and was founded in 1950. According to its website, it is a separate company but with a common family origin as Ben Heggy Candy Co. at 743 Cleveland Avenue NW.

The Hall of Fame Resort and Entertainment Co., which is developing the Village, did not release financial terms of the lease agreement nor its duration. The Fan Engagement Zone, which opened last summer, is an 82,000-square-foot retail center that adjoins the Constellation Center for Excellence and will be located by a 180-room Hilton Tapestry hotel and water park that are both scheduled to be constructed.
