Heidi Klum Releases Statement After Her 'AGT' Comments Following Gabrielle Union's Firing.
The war of words that ensued after Gabrielle Union was fired from NBC's hit series America's Got Talent has people from all different realms of the entertainment industry talking. Whether they side with Union or not one thing is clear, the subject is still a hot button issue. And one person who is finding out just how much of a polarizing issue Union's firing has become is model and television host Heidi Klum. And now she's releasing a statement after originally defending Simon Cowell.

Klum, who is currently hosting America's Got Talent: The Champions Season 2, found herself in hot water after comments she made about Union's firing during a press tour. Pop Culture reports;
"Recently, a reporter asked me to share my thoughts about Gabrielle Union’s experiences while working as a judge on America's Got Talent," Klum said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I told the reporter that I had not experienced similar issues while I was a judge on the show — my experience was a positive one. I can only speak of my own truth, and by no means is that meant to negate or question Gabrielle's truth."
Klum also went on to add that she supported Union's right to share her story, even though the two of them had very different experiences. During the interview she went on to say;
"I am aware that my experience may not be the same as Gabrielle's," Klum continued. "What I can tell you is that I am a fierce advocate for all people, no matter their race, age, religion, gender or sexuality. Everyone should be treated equally and with utmost respect.
"Personally, I have experienced very hurtful things while being married to a man of color and having three beautiful children with him. While everyone’s challenges are different, I want nothing more than for a just world and for people to be kinder to one another."Julianne Hough, who was also famously fired from AGT offered similar statements in the aftermath of Union's claims. Keeping it all the way neutral Hough chose to stay in the middle of the road with her comments.

“I had a wonderful time on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ I loved working with the cast, crew and producers,” (Hough) said. “I am happy to continue my working relationship with NBC. I’m looking forward to what the future holds.”
Union is not backing down from claims she experience a toxic work environment while on AGT, also claiming a distasteful joke made by Jay Leno also lent a hand in her speaking out against NBC after the firing .America's Got Talent airs Mondays at 8pm on NBC.
