LUXEMBURG - Luxemburg Bancshares, Inc., the holding company behind regional financial services company Bank of Luxemburg, has elected its first-ever female chairperson.

Susan L. Heim has been on the bank's board of directors since May of 2011. The 55-year-old businesswoman has been owner and president of Luxemburg-based screen printing, embroidery and promotional products firm Quali T, Inc., since 1994, which is certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council as a 100% woman-owned business.

A news release announcing Heim's election as chair noted her many local ties. She graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School, then earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1991.

In the community, Heim has led initiatives such as the Buy Local Kewaunee County Program and serves as an academic adviser and voluntary business coach for the entrepreneurial program in the Luxemburg-Casco School District, directly mentoring and guiding students. She also is a board member for the Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce.

"Susan embodies our core value of making a positive impact on people's lives," Bank of Luxemburg president/CEO Tim Treml said in the news release. "Her dedication to this mission is evident not only through her business skill but also in her active contributions to the local community. Susan's leadership sets an inspiring example for each of us."

Established in 1903 and based in the village of Luxemburg, Bank of Luxemburg operates nine banking offices in Luxemburg, Green Bay, Howard, Dyckesville, Casco, Algoma, Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay and Fish Creek, along with an ITM at Stodola's IGA grocery store in Luxemburg.
