You don’t have to be a teenage influencer or a twenty-something starlet to enjoy sitting on the front row and taking in the shows. Need proof? At London Fashion Week, no one appears to be having a better time than Dame Helen Mirren. The 74-year-old acting legend was a surprise guest at Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2020 collection, arriving at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office looking divine in the designer’s python print separates. Her pleated skirt and color-blocked blouse combo was right on-trend, especially when worn with a maroon clutch, ankle boots, and diamond hoops. In a look that was at once timeless and on-trend, Mirren was more than ready for the crowds of street style photographers waiting outside the venue.

Sitting alongside a starry front row that included Karen Elson, Billy Porter, and disability activist Sinéad Burke, Mirren appeared to be having a blast. Never a slouch in the style department, Mirren has always had fun subverting expectations about age and fashion; whether that means pink hair and Elie Saab Haute Couture at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, or custom Brandon Maxwell at the DGA awards. Her special appearance at Beckham’s collection was just another brilliant style moment for the Oscar-winning actress.
