CHEBOYGAN — While the string of megahits by The Carpenters ended with the 1983 death of Karen Carpenter, the catalog of songs by the Grammy-winning brother-sister duo have become classics.
As a docu-musical, "A Carpenters Christmas" will feature a slate of songs peppered with vignettes in a one-of-a-kind show featuring West End/Broadway artist/producer Helen Welch and her world-class musicians reliving many of the Carpenter’s timeless hits with classic holiday songs and stories woven in between.
This production will make its Cheboygan debut at 2 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the historic Cheboygan Opera House.
Tickets for adults are $30, $25 for seniors and veterans, and $10 for students. They are on sale at www.theoperahouse.org/tickets, by phone at (231) 627-5841 and at the box office, open Tuesday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
