Helicopter Comes to Rescue of Worker Stuck Near Top of Flagpole in Texas

A maintenance worker had to be rescued in Farmers Branch, Texas, on June 22 when he had a medical emergency in exactly the wrong place – near the top of a 150ft flagpole.

Arriving at the scene, the Farmers Branch Fire Department and Farmers Branch Police Department requested the assistance of a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter. “The aircrew, including Texas Game Wardens, used their equipment and training to reach the individual and safely lower the person to waiting EMS,” the Department of Public Safety said.
